SOUTH JERSEY STORM DANCE STARZ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • When are team practices?
    • Tiny and Mini teams practice once per week for the hours listed above.  Youth and Junior teams practice 1-2 times a week depending on scheduling.
  • How long is the all-star season?
    • 8 months.  Our all-star dance season begins in September and runs through April.
  • How many competitions does the team attend?
    • 3-4 local competitions and 1-2 overnight competitions
  • Where are the competitions?
    • Local competitions are all throughout the tri-state area for example; Philadelphia, Toms River, Trenton, Baltimore, Atlantic City, etc.  Overnight competitions will be within a several hours driving distance for example; Ocean City, MD, Providence, RI, Myrtle Beach, SC, etc.
  • When are the competitions?
    • All competitions are on Saturdays or Sundays.  Competitions will be spread out between January and April.
  • Do you have fundraising?
    • We do have fundraising available through a non-profit parent’s organization, Stormwatchers.  Please contact the gym if you have additional questions regarding fundraising opportunities and we will put you in touch with the proper person.
  • What do the dancers wear to practice?
    • Dancers will wear the practice tee-shirt that is given to them and black shorts or pants.  Sneakers of any sort are suitable for all hip-hop practices.
  • What is a USASF Fee?
    • USASF is the governing body of All-Star.  They require a $35 yearly fee per athlete in order to compete at competitions and regulate the age-grid, registration, and rules.
  • What is an Admin Fee?
    • The admin fee covers all of the instructors’ travel expenses for the season.
  • When is the monthly training fee due?
    • The monthly training fees are due on the 1st of each month.
  • When are the ‘additional expenses’ due?
    • With the exception of the Registration fee, a sum of all additional expenses are split out throughout the 8-month program.  Registration fee is due at the first practice.
